You CAN import Fusion360 designs into Unreal Engine (UE 4.26)

Importing into Unreal Engine is a bit unusual, the existing recomendation has been to go through Blender, but that’s a lot of overhead for a simple task. With UE4.26 (and perhapse earlier) it’s a fairly simple task. Once you have your design in Fusion360 there’s ony X steps.

  1. Export as FBX from Fusion360 (make sure everything you want as a different material in UE is a different body)
  2. Import into Unreal engine, each body will come as a different mesh
  3. Drop all of the meshes into the scene at once (this is important as the origins are shared)
  4. Group and merge actors

It really is that simple. Now you have an awesome prop for all your needs in Unreal Engine.

One thing to note is that materials from Fusion360 will come across, but they may be blanked out. This isn’t great but you can use existing materials in ‘Starter Content’ and some modification to replicate most of the defaults from fusion.
